   EM education faces challenges across the globe. These challenges arise from a host of factors that include the nature of the subject, teaching-learning issues, and perception of job opportunities. While these features are more or less common across countries, there could also be complex, region-specific issues affecting engineering and hence EM education. In addressing the challenges, it is therefore important to look at the whole picture, and also in more minute detail those that may be unique to the region. While a holistic addressing of the challenges could be quite a challenge by itself, it is only that kind of an approach that may show results in the long run. Unfortunately, given the complexity of the problem, it is difficult even to be sure if a certain approach will work ! In this talk, the speaker will share his personal perspectives on the topic,and his experience with South Indian EM education.
