- Intensive Course on ‘Analog Power Circuitry - its Mathematics and Physics’ by Professor Keng-Chi Wu
Date: 25-27 October 2016
Time: 9:00-12:00 and 14:00-17:00 daily

The IEEE Taipei Section CAS04 and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National Chiao Tung University have jointly invited Mr. Keng-Chi Wu to offer a three-day intensive course ＊Analog Power Circuitry - its Mathematics and Physics＊ at the NCTU. Mr. Wu, a NCTU alumnus, worked for the Lockheed Martin for years before he retired and has published five books on the topic of power supply. He is also an IEEE Member supporting CAS for long.
The CAS04 chair Prof. Ke-Horng Chen, who is also the chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the NCTU, opened the first session by inviting the NCTU president Prof. M. C. Frank Chang to give the welcoming remarks. Prof. Hsueh-Ming Hang, the dean of the NCTU College of Electrical and Computer Engineering, also spoke to thank Mr. Wu for supporting IEEE and NCTU. Mr. Wu, Prof. Chen, Prof. Chang and Prof. Hang had a photo together to officially start the course.
Participants came from a variety of background, including graduate and undergraduate students from the NCTU, NTHU, NTU, TKU and so on, researchers from the ITRI and CIC, and engineers from the IC Plus Corp., Leadtrend, etc. People enjoyed the course and had a lot of discussion with Mr. Wu even during course breaks.
Starting from the mathematics and physics of analog power circuitry, Mr. Wu further shared his experience in designing power systems of some significant projects in the U.S. as well. Participants have learned the trend of designing power systems and rethought about the focus of future design. Mr. Wu and all participants along with Prof. Chen posed a group photo after all sessions finished to conclude the interesting intensive course.
吳耿志教授密集課程「類比電路—其數學及物理」

CAS04支會與國立交通大學電機工程學系，很榮幸共同邀請吳耿志老師開設三日密集課程「類比電路—其數學及物理」；吳老師為國立交通大學校友，曾服務美國Lockheed Martin多年，專門從事人造衛星及神盾軍艦之電力系統設計，已出版五本電源供應書籍，為IEEE多年會員，並長期支持IEEE CAS各項活動。
課程首日，由CAS04支會主席暨國立交通大學電機工程學系主任陳科宏教授主持，首先邀請國立交通大學校長張懋中博士代表主辦單位，致詞歡迎吳老師遠道而來，並贈予吳老師紀念品致謝；國立交通大學電機學院院長杭學鳴教授亦致詞歡迎吳老師回母校，感謝其對IEEE及母校的長期支持；最後在張校長、杭院長、陳教授與吳老師合影後，正式展開課程。
參與課程的學員組成相當多元，除了來自交通大學、清華大學、臺灣大學、淡江大學等校在學博士班、碩士班及學士班學生，多位工業技術研究院、國家晶片系統設計中心等單位研究人員亦全程參加，亦有產業界人士來自如九暘電子、晉陞太空科技、通嘉科技等公司。三日課程期間，學員與吳老師互動熱烈，即便是課間休息時間亦抓緊機會向吳老師請益。
吳老師由探討類比電路設計的數學及物理出發，同時分享在美國工作期間參與各項重要電力系統設計的經驗，不但幫助學員更加瞭解當前電力系統設計趨勢，也藉此機會讓大家思考未來電力系統設計值得關注的方向。第三日下午課程結束後，吳老師與陳教授及所有參與學員共同合影，為此次課程畫下圓滿句點。
